Biography
Command Sergeant Major retired Bart E. Womack, served the United States Army with distinction for over 29 years as a professional soldier, providing focus, leadership, and mentorship to all Officers and Enlisted Soldiers. His maturity, expertise, and personal dedication to excellence contributed immeasurably to the readiness of the Armed Forces and the security of our great nation.
A resident of Pittsburgh, he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Park University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Waynesburg University, and is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 48.
Highlights of his distinguished military career include Drill Sergeant, Ranger Instructor, Relief Commander and Sergeant of the Guard at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He culminated his career in dual roles as Commandant, and the 101st Airborne Division Command Sergeant Major.
He’s a Combat Iraq War Veteran and fought in Korea. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, one for valor, and the Combat Infantryman Badge w/star. Other awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Tomb Guard Identification Badge, and the Army Ranger Tab. He is also a Distinguished Member of the Regiment (DMOR) for the 3rd and 327th Infantry Regiments.
Since his retirement, Bart has continued to assist veterans to enhance their careers and excel in post-military life. He sits on the Board of Directors for Veterans Media Corporation and serves as an Executive Producer for The Veterans Channel. Bart is the Co-Founder, Chair, and COO of the Armed Forces Equestrian Center (AFEC). This non-profit organization provides equine therapy for veterans, military families, and people with disabilities. Bart was invested as a Knight into The Order of St. George, Grand Priory of Canada & the Americas, in October 2020.
Bart also works in the entertainment industry as an actor and military technical advisor. He proudly added the titles of author and screenplay writer to his resume with the publication of Embedded Enemy. Bart has appeared on all media platforms about his book. Based on the valuable lessons learned from the tragic incident documented in Embedded Enemy, he speaks publicly on the topic of Situational Awareness Security to mitigate domestic terrorism.
